Fast on the spot nutritional analysis device – NIR Spectroscopy

Blue Ribbon Stockfeeds have just recently acquired a device that can be used anywhere to test the nutritional analysis of feed, hay, silages and grasses. Early knowledge of the nutritional content and quality of feed material will ensure livestock are fed optimally and efficiently. Previously we were having to send the samples to a laboratory. With this new equipment the nutritional analysis is now instant so the lengthy waiting periods for results are no longer.
This will also allow us to test the quality of the ingredients and raw materials prior to manufacturing the pellets, thus enabling the product specification to be more accurate. More exact diet formulation will be possible for custom blends when we are able to take into consideration what is lacking in the pastures or hay.
